the software has no signals to process and turn into fan control signals. That being the case, the manufacturer of the lappie has nothing to gain by including the sensors and circuitry interface needed for such software to function. If it can do that, then the cooler becomes redundant. The reason why no vendor I think has provided auxilliary cooling in docking stations is because the cooling systems must be designed to keep the laptop cool when it is not at home with your cooler. I have used many docking stations provided by laptop manufacturers over the years. You could try and wire in the cooler to tap into the laptops circuitry but no aftermarket manufacturer is in a position to develop a circuitry interface that would work on all lappies. So what I am saying is what would the software do ? but when I turned the fans in the cooler on and off, I saw no significant change.
The purpose of the software would be to adjust fan temps in response to changes in CPU / GPU temps. Once you provide these three items, the software would have something to work with.Īgain, in my experience, these coolers do not affect CPU / GPU temps. a) a temperature sensor to read the temps and b) circuitry to deliver the signal to the cooler and c) a means if speed control.
